Male, DMH Black, DOB 18/1/18
Vegemite is one of our ‘special needs’ cats and he is looking for a new home. He did not have the best start in life being born in an industrial area. It wasn’t easy for him especially as he has a few problems. Vegemite has a ‘different’ tongue that comes out to the side of his mouth when he eats, which fortunately does not bother him and just adds to his charm.
As you can see Vegemite is also crossed eyed, which again is no problem to him. More significantly his upper lids did not form correctly and this means his lashes were rubbing on his eyes. Recently he underwent surgery and cryotherapy to his lids. So far the surgery has been a great success. However, Vegemite may need to have further cryotherapy or surgery down the track. And if necessary APS will cover any costs involved.
In spite of his rough start to life and his eye problems, Vegemite has shown himself to be a loving, playful and cuddly boy. He loves being with other cats. He will initially be a little shy when he first meets you but just give him a little time and he will be your new best friend. If you think you would like to meet Vegemite, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we can arrange an introduction.
